Every repeat dismissal has a root cause. Pick the pattern you keep seeing — this is where the correction starts.
Root cause: late contact — the ball is met under the eyes' blind spot, so the edge finds the keeper before the fix is even visible at full speed. Video shows it in one session.
Root cause: a gap between bat and pad — the head falls to the off side and the hands follow, leaving the stumps open to anything straight.
Root cause: the front foot plants before the length is read, so the pad arrives where the bat should be. A timing correction, not a courage problem.
Root cause: pushing at the ball with the hands ahead of the head — no weight transfer through the shot, so it floats instead of pierces.

The coach
Jared played semi-professionally in South Africa and professionally in England, then spent two years developing cricket across Europe before opening the academy at Ruimsig in 2015.
Since then it's been one thing, done properly: batting corrections, one player at a time, on video. Thousands of hours in these two nets. Some of the juniors who started here have gone on to provincial squads, a national U19 call-up — and a couple now bat professionally in the SA20.
The method is the same whether you're nine or thirty-nine: find the real fault, fix it, make it hold, and prove it under pressure.

Juniors through to adult club players. The system works the same at every level — faults are just easier to fix the earlier they're caught. If your child is serious about their cricket, they're the right level.
The player bats for a full hour, Jared watches and films, and by the end you'll know the specific technical cause of the pattern you've been seeing — plus a written correction plan and an honest answer on whether it's worth booking sessions to fix it. R500, once-off.
Most single faults hold within 4–8 sessions. You'll get an honest estimate at the assessment — and if something isn't fixable in the nets, you'll be told that too.

Yes — the academy has coached boys and girls of all ages since 2015, and the correction system is identical. Girls' cricket is growing fast in Johannesburg and serious players are very welcome here.
